REMINDERS FOR USHERS
1. The collection is now part of the offertory (procession of gifts). After the collection is taken up, it should be processed up to the altar by an Usher along with the gifts of bread and wine presented by members of the congregation. After the priest acknowledges the collection, bring it back to the sacristy using the side door, and put it in the collection box.
2. First aid kits are now in the cabinet of the Communications Center.
3. Prior to the beginning of Mass:
a. Check holy water fonts to make sure they’re filled. Fill from the baptismal font. It’s okay to dump holy water into ground outside before refilling.
b. Turn light on in the Communications Center.
4. During Mass:
a. Count every person in the building except the priest (that includes choir, servers, music ministers, etc.).
b. Make sure children don’t go to the bathroom without a parent.
5. After Mass:
a. Put shades in three-quarter upright position if they have been put down.
b. Put hymnals back in their proper place at the end of the pew.
c. Pick up any debris in the pews and make sure kneelers are upright.
