For many years, St. Margaret’s has had an active music ministry. Our goal is to enrich the liturgies by providing music at all weekend Masses and holy days throughout the liturgical year. We have been blessed with gifted musicians who willingly share their time and talents with the faith community and the assembly choir that embraces the spirit of full and active participation! Thank you for your support of our music ministry!

 

The adult choir of 20+ members sings about twice a month as well as Christmas and Holy Week. They graciously give their time for rehearsals and Masses from September to the end of May. The choir always welcomes new members. The rehearsals are on Tuesdays at 7 p.m.

 

We are blessed to have a few instrumentalists in the parish who play at Mass, and we welcome young people who would like to play. Students must be in grade 7 or higher and have good musical skills.

 

Music has been incorporated in the K-6 grade Faith Formation Program. This is a good way for students to learn the Bible stories and to share their gift with the parish community. In addition, we would like to offer the opportunity to have a youth choir that would sing 4 times during the Faith Formation year. The rehearsals are usually after the 10:30 a.m. Mass (11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.) on the two Sundays prior to the Mass in which they would sing. A letter will be sent to all the students in grades 3-6 inviting them to join the choir. It will be imperative that we have a minimum of 15 singers in order for this choir to be successful. We have found that without strong parental support and encouragement it has been difficult to continue having a choir. Parents, please encourage your child to consider joining the youth choir!
